UPSC participates in a working group with our institution

The Chamber of Mines of Peru and the San Carlos University of Puno work for a more responsible mining.

The Chamber of Mines of Peru participates in a working group with the authorities of the San Carlos University of Puno (UPSC). The objective of the dialogue was to analyze the current situation and training programs related to the mining sector in the region.

For this purpose, the chief executive officer of our institution, Eng. Cesar Gallardo Vela, proposed a joint and permanent work between both entities.

University authorities such as the director of the School of Environmental Engineering of the UPSC, Mrs. Maria Isabel Vallenas, and the dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Mr. David Calizalla, showed their concern for the social and environmental responsibility of all economic activities in the region. In addition, to seek solutions on both sides to develop a comprehensive work plan with the participation of local and regional authorities.

Cesar Gallardo Vela, Chief Executive Director of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, Mr. Carlos Castagnola, Senior Management Advisor, and Mr. Juan Herrera Carpio, Rector of the San Carlos Universidad, participated in the working group.

Also, the director of the School of Environmental Engineering, Mrs. Maria Isabel Vallenas; the dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Mr. David Calizalla were present, among other authorities of the university.

This demonstrates the commitment of the Chamber of Mines of Peru to create and promote social and environmental responsibility plans. Also, it is noted the work for the development of responsible mining after participating in a working group with the UPSC.

The San Carlos University was founded on October 25, 2006 with professional careers in Accounting and Finance, Nursing and Computer Engineering. In addition, the educational institution affirms its commitment to quality training with human values.
