UNESCO strengthens cooperation ties with our institution

The Chairman of The Chamber of Mines of Peru, engineer César Gallardo, met with the representative of the Permanent Delegation of Peru to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Nikolais Filippakopoulu, in order to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation with the support of UNESCO.

The Chamber of Mines of Peru and the international entity are also committed to working together to promote the growth and dissemination of culture, as well as the development of the mining sector in Peru and Latin America. “We are committed to UNESCO to work together for the promotion and dissemination of culture, as it is part of our strategic objectives as an institution that seeks the conservation of cultural heritage through a mining activity responsible with the environment and society,” said the Chairman of our institution, engineer César Gallardo Vela.

Remarks by the UNESCO representative after meeting with The Chamber of Mines of Peru

“Education goes hand in hand with information; if a person is well informed, he/she is well educated. Therefore, I welcome the initiative and the work being done by The Chamber of Mines of Peru to provide the necessary tools to the mining sector for training. This through its international programs and worldwide experts. In addition to the latest trends offered by the sector globally, which seek mining development in Latin America,” expressed the representative of Unesco in Peru, Mr. Nikolais Filippakopoulus, expanding the panorama on the cooperation ties between UNESCO and our institution.

The Permanent Delegation of Peru is the diplomatic mission of the Peruvian State accredited to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The core function of the Permanent Delegation of Peru to the Unesco is to contribute to the elaboration of Peru’s foreign policy, as well as to the various topics included in Unesco’s agenda, which is carried out in order to promote national interests, as well as those of the State and society.
