UNESCO Representative held a meeting with the President of the CMP

In the meeting, strategies related to culture and mining making possible to work together for the development of Peru were addressed.

César Gallardo, President of The Chamber of Mines of Peru, held a work meeting in Paris, France, with Nikolais Filippakopoulus, representative of the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Peru to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and discussed about the strategies related to culture and mining that could further the Peruvian development.

In terms of development and dissemination of culture in Peruvian and Latin American mining, César Gallardo, president of our institution, expressed, “We share projects and work programs in support of mining and culture. This was perfectly evident during the first meeting held last month at The Chamber of Mines.”

The Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Peru is a diplomatic mission from the Peruvian Government accredited to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The important role of the Permanent Delegation is to prepare the Peruvian foreign policy on the number of themes part of UNESCO’s agenda, as well as to implement them based on the promotion of national, societal and governmental interests.

In a previous meeting held by the representative of UNESCO and the President of The Chamber of Mines, the representative of UNESCO said, “Education goes hand in hand with information.

A well-informed individual is a better educated individual. Consequently, I welcome the work being done by The Chamber of Mines of Peru on providing the required tools via international programs and world-renowned experts as well as the latest mining trends around the world that seek mining development in Latin America.” This meeting strengthens the ties with our institution.
