The Chamber of Mines of Peru started on April 13, the training course “2019 Mining Sector Outlook in Latin America” aimed at students of the National University of Cajamarca (UNC). This is part of the educational tour carried out by the teaching staff of our institution in the northwestern city of the country.
Likewise, the training course with which the Chamber of Mines of Peru started its educational tour was given by Dr. Carlos Castagnola, Senior Management Advisor of our institution.
The speaker, through the development of the academic activity, broadened the knowledge of the mining situation in Peru and Latin America. He also addressed topics such as social conflicts, mining reinvention and the challenges that await the industry on the eve of the Bicentennial.
Testimony of a UNC’s Student on the Educational Initiative of the Chamber of Mines of Peru
Mercedes Torres, a Mining Engineering student who participated in the training course, commented, “It is very important for us to have an institution like the Chamber of mines of Peru since it cares about the students of Cajamarca, a region with mining potential”.
In addition, the UNC’s student mentioned, “this course is very important for all of us because it allows us to learn about the reality of the mining sector, to have a broader vision because many of us are about to graduate very soon.” She also congratulated the initiative of the Chamber of Mines of Peru on promoting, through its educational tour, the start of programs of great academic value. These programs are aimed at students of the country’s decentralized universities.
In this regard, the main objective of the Chamber of Mines of Peru is to reach more places in Peru and Latin America with the purpose of mining for everyone, which is based on educational pillars such as research and technology for a sector with a vision of the future.
