According to statistics published in the newspaper El Comercio on July 18 of this year, there are 211 existing social conflicts, 122 are socio-environmental conflicts, where Ancash (22 cases), Apurimac (23 cases) and Puno (18 cases) are the most affected.
According to the experts of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, the viability for the mining progress emerges from key aspects, such as: social capital; relations with rural communities and with specific stakeholders; coexistence with the populations from the areas of influence; the shared value strategy; the management of over-expectations, as well as the relevance of understanding communication in its foundations to build trust.
