The President of the Technical Committee is awarded a master’s degree in Mining Management

Engineer Luis Alva Florián was awarded a master’s degree in Mining Management at Gerens Postgraduate School.

Engineer Luis Alva Florián, President of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, was awarded a master’s degree for successfully completing the Master’s program in Mining Management at Gerens Postgraduate School.

Ricardo Labó, Vice Minister of Mines, and César Gallardo, CEO of this Institution, were present at the graduation ceremony.

In his graduation speech Engineer Luis Alva Florián, President of the Technical Advisory Committee, thanked God for giving him the opportunity to share classes with outstanding professionals from the mining field and for helping him to achieve his goal. Engineer AlvaFlorian remarked that “the acquired knowledge is a weapon when creating value and growth strategies for businesses and society. Our duty is to be the best mining industry professionals and by doing a good job, we are securing the lives of others and the health of complete households.”

On behalf of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, Engineer César Gallardo, our CEO, congratulated Engineer Luis Alva on his achievement. Engineer Luis Alva is a professional with an extensive experience who shares his knowledge during the different programs offered by our institution.

Furthermore, he is a promoter and advocate of sustainable and responsible mining. He is always looking for the benefit of Peru, the society and the business through innovative strategies that optimize resources and create value for the company.

Profile of Engineer Luis Alva Florián

Engineer Luis Alva Florián has 35 years of experience in the mining industry and is now President of the Technical Advisory Committee of this institution. He also serves as specialist in underground and open-pit mining operations management. Also, he led teams of geology, mining operations, maintenance, safety and environmental management, metallurgy, engineering and planning, budget and cost control. He worked as General Manager of Aruntani Mining Company; Corporate General Manager of Arasi, Tukari, Anama and Apumayo mines; Operations Manager of Catalina Huanca Mining Unit (Trafigura Group); Director of San Rafael mine (Minsur S.A.) and Manager of Santa Barbara Mining Unit (Minsur S.A.).
