The Chamber of Mines of Peru and the Argentinian University promote academic cooperation for the mining sector.
The Chamber of Mines of Peru and the National University of the South (UNS) of Argentina made an institutional strategic alliance by signing a framework cooperation agreement, whereby they established to agree and develop mechanisms for mutual collaboration.
The prestige of the National University of the South of Argentina in training professionals in the mining sector has led the Chamber of Mines of Peru to have the privilege of signing this framework agreement, as it will allow access to academic programs for students and teachers of the educational institution, which already has a line of research that will allow the development of the mining industry in the region.
The objective of the agreement, signed between the CEO of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, Ing. César Gallardo, and the Rector of the university, Dr. Daniel Vega, is the following:
“To join efforts and available resources conducive to human and knowledge development, as well as technical cooperation and provision of services to each other.
Dr. Daniel Vega, Rector of the National University of the South of Argentina, was very pleased to achieve this strategic alliance with the Chamber of Mines of Peru.
“We are sincerely very pleased to have reached this agreement with the Chamber of Mines of Peru, as it will allow us to work more, not only for the professionals from Argentina and Peru but from Latin America.”
“We are in a good moment. Mining is booming and this circumstance must be taken advantage of in a sustainable and responsible way,” he added.
Part of the policy of the Chamber of Mines of Peru is to make strategic alliances with recognized public and private institutions, not only nationally, but also internationally, as in this case with the National University of the South of Argentina, thus contributing to the substantial improvement in the development of responsible mining activity.
