Signing Framework Agreement with UNSCH for Mining Education

The Chamber of Mines of Peru and the San Cristóbal de Huamanga University – UNSCH – signed a Framework agreement of Interinstitutional Cooperation in order to promote joint collaboration, cooperation and reciprocal assistance through the development of technical training and various cultural activities.

Likewise, our institution is focused on continuously training students and teachers of the mining sector and creating and promoting social and environmental plans in order to deliver mining for everyone, under the pillars of education and technology.

Aware of this reality, the CEO of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, Ing. César Gallardo, and the Rector of the San Cristóbal de Huamanga National University, Dr. Homero Ango Aguilar, committed to working together for the development of professionals.

In addition, the UNSCH’s authority thanked the possibility and opportunity provided by the Chamber of Mines of Peru. This allows them to be strategic partners in search of a responsible and sustainable extractive activity over time, in addition to promote scientific research and develop social responsibility projects, as well as, to deliver constant training to UNSCH’s students and teachers.

Profile of the San Cristobal de Huamanga National University

The UNSCH has a school of professional training in mining engineering with a 50 year tradition. It has contributed to the development of the country’s mining activity.

In addition, the framework agreement with the UNSCH calls on both parties to carry out coordinated actions, among which the following stand out:

  • Provide technical assistance and training to the personnel of both parties.
  • Co-organize and jointly develop cultural and/or SR activities.
  • Collaborate in the dissemination of activities and services organized by both parties.

Finally, through the promotion of these coordinated actions, it is planned to consolidate an academic plan to promote mining activities in the future.
