San Ignacio de Morococha mining company, a new member of the CMP

The mining company (SIMSA) joins the group of members of the Chamber of Mines of Peru.

The Chamber of Mines of Peru has added Minera San Ignacio de Morococha to its list of prestigious companies and universities that work for the development of the mining sector.

By signing its affiliation to the Chamber of Mines of Peru, both institutions seek to develop mutual collaboration mechanisms.

The Compañía Minera San Ignacio de Morococha S.A.A. (SIMSA) joined the Chamber of Mines of Peru. Both institutions agree to “establish relations that allow the development of mechanisms and instruments of mutual collaboration, joining efforts and resources to achieve their institutional objectives”. The document was signed by the Senior Management Advisor and Graduate Program Director of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, Carlos Castagnola, and the SIMSA’s General Manager, engineer Luis Alva Florián.

Luis Alva Florián has a vast professional experience in the mining sector. He has been General Manager at Minera Aruntani S.A.C.; Operations Manager at Catalina Huanca Mining Company, Trafigura Group; Operations Manager at Minsur S.A., San Rafael Mine; among others.

Engineer Alva also said, “At SIMSA, we are looking to improve our operations and the Chamber of Mines of Peru can help us to obtain favorable results. We want to achieve this objective and the Chamber of Mines of Peru will be very beneficial to us”.

The Chamber of Mines of Peru has been doing an excellent job for mining and is on the right track for 2019,” added Alva.

Dr. Carlos Castagnola said, “We have signed a very important agreement, which allows us to work together for a responsible and solidary mining activity that promotes development.”

Minera San Ignacio de Morococha S.A.A. (SIMSA) is a Peruvian mining company engaged in exploration, exploitation and concentration of zinc and lead.
