OHSE Program student presented thesis with outstanding performance

Aníbal Sucari León successfully presented his thesis with which he obtained the Master’s Degree in Safety, Health and Environment Management.

The Chamber of Mines of Peru, faithful to its commitment to contribute to the training of professionals through its Master’s Degree Program, is proud to announce that engineer Aníbal Sucari, student of the OHSE Program, successfully presented his thesis obtaining the Master’s Degree in Safety, Health and Environment Management.

This event was held on July 6 at Universidad Nacional de Huancavelica (UNH). Engineer Sucari presented the thesis “Influencia de la aplicación de seguridad basada en el comportamiento en la ocurrencia de accidentes de trabajo en la mina Arcata de la empresa contratista IESA S.A. en el año 2016” (Influence of the application of behavior-based safety in the occurrence of occupational accidents in the Arcata mine of the contractor company IESA S.A. in 2016).

The jury was chaired by Percy Canta Carlos, Manuel Esteves Pairazaman (secretary) and César Guzmán Ybañez (member). Engineer Freddy Parejas Rodríguez was the student’s advisor during the preparation of the thesis.

During the presentation, the student of the OHSE Program, engineer Sucari, mentioned different cases related to the application of safety for the prevention of occupational accidents at the Arcata mine, located in Arequipa. Then, he answered several questions asked by the members of the jury about his presentation.

The members of the jury considered Sucari’s presentation as satisfactory. Master’s Degree Percy Canta presided over the swearing-in ceremony and awarded the high academic degree to the candidate.

Graduated from Universidad Nacional del Altiplano (Puno), engineer Aníbal Sucari has been a safety engineer at Ares mining company, which belongs to IESA. He currently teaches at his alma mater in specialty courses on surface and underground mining.
