National Seminar for Mining Students held in Huancavelica

National Seminar for Mining Students held in Huancavelica

The 23rd National Seminar for Mining Students (Senamin) was held on Wednesday, December 20th, in Lircay District, Huancavelica. During this event, Dr. Carlos Castagnola, Senior Management Advisor and representative of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, gave a lecture titled “New Paradigms in Mine Management”. Carlos Castagnola is part of more than 200 mining professionals working in this institution.

The National Seminar for Mining Students was organized for more than 200 students from the National University of Huancavelica (UNH) and held at the campus auditorium, in Lircay. Also, more than 100 backpacks were delivered to the students thanks to the logistic support.

Amongst the attendees were Rodrigo Huamancaja, Dean of the Mining, Civil and Environmental School and Jenner Anderson, president of UNH’s 23rd class of Mining Engineering.

The Dean Huamancaja appreciated the initiative, which is part of the activities established under the agreement signed by both institutions. Thus, on behalf of the faculty and students, he handed during the ceremony an appreciation letter recognizing the representatives of our institution.

The Chamber of Mines of Peru is known for the promotion of responsible and sustainable mining. We are also engaged in continuous training for professionals, who will contribute to the development of mining in the country.

For that aim, we organize on-site training sessions for students and professors, who come from nation-wide universities along the northern, centered and southern regions of Peru.

Our institution is renowned for customize its training programs to meet the mining industry needs. Therefore, it aims at changing the paradigm of the extracting industry.
