Within the framework of the development of the Inter-sectoral Round Table for Migratory Management (MTIGM), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (RREE) organized its 5th Extraordinary Session. Dr. Carlos Castagnola, Secretary General of the Advisory Council of The Chamber of Mines of Peru, participated in the meeting.
Likewise, the meeting was held at the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was attended by representatives of Peru’s 18 ministries, the National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat), the National Superintendency of University Higher Education (Sunedu), as well as Migrations, the Association of Peruvian Migrants’ Relatives (Afamiper), among other public entities.
The Inter-sectoral Round Table for Migratory Management is responsible for generating an efficient diagnosis of the problems of migration policy in Peru. In addition, after analyzing it, we will define and reach a consensus on the general guidelines to be followed by the National Migration Policy. It is aimed at having a broad horizon with respect to the main figures recorded over the years and thus ensure social welfare.
General guidelines of the Peruvian Migratory Policy
In addition, the Peruvian Migration Policy is defined by a set of general guidelines aimed at ensuring the care of Peruvian migrants abroad and their relatives, Peruvian men and women willing to emigrate, returnees, and foreigners residing in Peru. As well as being able to organize migratory flows and guarantee migratory governance because Peru is a country of origin and transit. In recent years it has also been considered as a country of destination and return of migrants.
