Congress organized by the Chamber of Mine of Peru bets on virtual lectures with the support of specialists.
The Chamber of Mine of Peru, the main institution promoting and managing mining for all, is developing the III Mining Congress GEOMET 2021. This is a specialized mining congress with the participation of more than 400 professionals worldwide and is characterized by pillars such as mining innovation and speakers who are world leaders in the extractive sector.
In view of this, as part of its commitment to a satisfactory experience for each participant of the GEOMET 2021 congress, our institution spoke with the outstanding engineer Luis Alberto Flores, CEO of Gd Prissma, an educational center for advice, consultancy and training in risk prevention, occupational health and environment.
Regarding his participation, the CEO of Gd Prismma explained that he decided to enroll in the congress organized by the Chamber of Mine of Peru after learning through his network of contacts about the master’s degree he is currently studying in Management of Occupational Health and Safety in Mining at the Camiper Escuela de Altos Estudios Camiper.
On the other hand, engineer Flores commented that “it is a very interesting global congress, because it allows me to learn and develop professionally with very important topics and presentations. Everything I learn I share in my work, with my colleagues and places where we provide services,” he said.
The CEO of Gd Prismma highlighted the virtual innovation of GEOMET 2021 as one of its main references, because “taking the mining lecture virtually gives us the freedom to keep updated from wherever we are. Whether at work or at home,” he said.
He also indicated that one of the main advantages of the specialized congress is to ask live questions to the international speakers on particular topics, as well as belonging to a consultation forum between colleagues in the sector and presenters who were in charge of clearing up any doubts or information needed.
At the global level, Mr. Flores pointed out that “among the most outstanding references in mining innovation is Mr. José Carrión Pérez and his presentation on the Mining Emergency Response Plan in times of Covid-19. He addresses the current health context from a specialized perspective and with the support of a wide experience”, said the CEO of Gr Prismma.
He also highlighted the participation of other important references of the mining sector such as Ph.D. Leonardo Cornejo (Chile), President of the Technical Advisory Committee of Camiper who gave the short course “Integrated Management Systems in Mining”; the Director of Occupational Safety and Health, Eng. Alberto Ccahuana (Peru) who gave the short course “Management and Auditing of Occupational Safety and Health in Mining”; as well as the other mining specialists of the specialized staff of GEOMET 2021.
Finally, after being asked about his experience and learning during the first days of the GEOMET 2021 conference and lectures, Luis Alberto Flores, CEO of Gd Prissma, welcomed the initiative of the Chamber of Mine of Peru for promoting this globalized congress and invited professionals to continue specializing in the areas of management, geology, mining, metallurgy, safety and mining maintenance. These areas are addressed under the parameters of mining innovation and specialized references in GEOMET 2021.
