Executives of The Chamber of Mines of Peru were present at the opening of the International Art Fair “Art Lima 2017.”
The week of art has finally arrived in our capital. In this its fifth edition, the International Art Fair “Art Lima 2017,” presents an ambitious sample of national and international contemporary art. This important meeting of culture and artistic expressions is held on April 20, 21, 22 and 23.
On this occasion, the fair is being held at the facilities of the Higher War School of the Peruvian Army, in Chorrillos. Likewise, it has art samples from 23 cities and 15 countries, distributed in 63 consolidated galleries in the artistic world. Among them are: Galería Beta (Beta Gallery) and Sextante (Sextant Gallery), both from Colombia; Galería del Paseo (Paseo Gallery) from Uruguay; Brésil from Brazil; Younique (Unique) from France; Prima Galería (Prima Gallery) from Chile and “Lucía de La Puente” from Peru.
The Chamber of Mines of Peru could not miss this event, which was inaugurated on the evening of Wednesday, April 19, where its President, Engineer César Gallardo, accompanied by the Secretary General of the Advisory Council and advisor to the Committee on Culture and Cultural Heritage of the Congress of the Republic, Dr. Carlos Castagnola, were present at this meeting full of personalities related to business, art and culture, such as the well-known businesswoman Marysienka Miró Quesada and the renowned artist, Fernando de Szyszlo.
International Fair
As it is customary every year, in addition to the inauguration of the International Art Fair, the EFG Latin America Art Award will be presented. It could not miss the recognition to the trajectory that will be given to Peruvian collectors for their contribution to contemporary art in our country.
Likewise, the Lima International Art Fair from its platform formally activates the art system in Peru, facilitating the public’s access to the international offer of contemporary art. It is held annually in Lima in April, contributing to the consolidation of the Peru brand in the world cultural circuit.
Finally, thanks to the results obtained in its past editions, Art Lima is recognized as one of the most important art fairs in Latin America. With its development, it generates an economic contribution to the growth of the cultural and tourist industries of the country and the region.
