Looking to start a year 2021, full of valuable activities to optimize the productivity of mining operations, we offered this course for all our members. The Chamber Of Mines Of Peru teached the course “Autonomous Transport for Surface Mining”.
This course was offered completely free and online, and was held on January 11 and 18, from 19:00 to 21:00 hours in Peru.
The speaker was the renowned professor Marcelo Andrés Navarrete, current director of Mining Management at the Chamber Of Mines Of Peru. In addition of holding a Master’s degree in Business Management, he is the Operations Superintendent at Mina Nueva Unión – SPA. He has more than 20 years of experience in mining, he worked as superintendent of drilling, blasting and services at Codelco, Andina (Chile). In addition, he is professor of the Diploma course in Mining Operations Management Camiper School of Advanced Studies.
Course of Autonomous Transport
With the Course of Autonomous Transport in Surface Mining, students learned to design actions to optimize the operation and maximize the value of the mining business, making an analysis of the technologies for autonomous trucks, allowing the incorporation of key concepts regarding their performance and operation, to obtain and create a new vision of mining related to industry 4.0.
In addition, this course shows how the mining industry is facing a series of challenges, one of them being the decrease in productivity. In this Webinar, the technological trends of Mining 4.0 and Autonomous Transportation systems are presented in order to optimize and improve productivity in mining operations.
