Director of the School of Mining Engineering of the Micaela Bastidas National University welcomed our decentralization.
The Chamber of Mines of Peru works on educational decentralization, through its digital platforms that allow students to study 100% virtual classes from different parts of the world.
In this opportunity, we interviewed the Director of the Professional School of Mining Engineering of the Micaela Bastidas National University (Abancay), Rodolfo Andrés Mattos Ojeda, who welcomed the educational decentralization provided by the Chamber of Mines of Peru.
However, why is it important that the Chamber of Mines of Peru provides its students with the opportunity to have an education strengthened in digital standards?” Ing. Rodolfo Mattos answered the following, “Digital standards of the Chamber of Mines of Peru decentralize education and make it available to all locations in Peru and the world. This allows students from different towns and cities to have access to first level classes without having to go to Lima or to distant technical centers in provinces. In the same way, people living deep inside Peru and universities located in these towns are just integrating into this digital field, and the support of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, helps us a lot in this integration. Therefore, I would like to welcome the work of the Chamber of Mines of Peru on decentralizing education and making it available to all the localities of the country“.
Mining digitalization has started to make its way against traditional schemes in the sector. Why is it important to insist, in educational form and content, on programs that address digitalization in mining?
Ing. Mattos indicated that: “On this point, we have to reflect very seriously”. He also pointed out that “all universities are obliged to move forward, together with technology in order to understand the new digital languages applied to mining. If we do not do this, we would be behind and our professionals would be less competitive. We feel confident with the advice, assistance and support in the technological field given by the Chamber of Mines of Peru. Also, this gives us new perspectives and a better education system for the student.” With so many offers of mining programs from other institutions, why would professionals have to choose the Chamber of Mine of Peru and the institutional support of the Micaela Bastidas National University? The specialist answered, “Because we are at the forefront of engineering universities. We all have to walk at that pace and students as well. A traditional education, strengthened with digital standards is optimized and becomes world class. That is why the student can trust the programs offered by the Chamber of Mines of Peru supported by the Micaela Bastidas National University”.
Ing. Rodolfo Mattos said that this alliance is the best way to open the path towards mutual development in the educational and technological fields applied to mining. Undoubtedly, this union will be an important cover letter for the graduate to apply to any company.
