Cooperation Agreement between COMIBOL and The Chamber of Mines of Peru

This agreement will develop mechanisms and instruments of mutual collaboration to achieve their institutional objectives.

Cooperation Agreement between COMIBOL

The Chamber of Mines of Peru and Bolivia Mining Corporation (COMIBOL, by is Spanish initials) signed a bilateral cooperation agreement. 

The President of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, Ing. César Gallardo Vela, and the CEO of COMIBOL, Zelmar Andía Valverde, signed the agreement. It is worth mentioning that the meeting for the signing of this agreement was held in the office of the Bolivian Minister of Mining and Metallurgy, César Navarro.

The aim of this agreement is to establish relations between COMIBOL and the Chamber of Mines of Peru in order to develop mechanisms and instruments for mutual collaboration. Likewise, the cooperation agreement between COMIBOL and our institution, promotes the sum of efforts and resources that lead to the achievement of their institutional objectives.

“We took a step in Lima and ratified the agreement we have, and today we are taking many more solid steps,” said Minister Navarro.

One of the agreement clauses states that Bolivia and Peru will develop strategic and investment projects and will work in coordination with mining representatives.

Cooperation Agreement with COMIBOL towards Responsible Mining Development

“We are very happy because, in a way, history shows that we are and will continue to be brothers with Peru; not only in mining, but in every aspect”, remarked Zelmar Andía at the moment of signing the agreement.

In this context, engineer Gallardo stated that the meetings held by the commission that accompanied him were very productive. Therefore, he expressed his satisfaction for the achievements obtained in the signing of this cooperation agreement with COMIBOL. “We have already started our cooperation activities that will be consolidated next year”, said the president of the Chamber of Mines of Peru.

Our institution continues to consolidate its efforts to contribute to the responsible development of the mining activity, especially through exploration, extraction, reclamation and commercialization activities that benefit all stakeholders in a context of global integration.
