«The mining innovation promoted by the Chamber of Mines of Peru drives the country’s economic growth», he affirms.
Congressman Omar Chehade Moya met with the members of the Board of Directors and Advisory Council of the Chamber of Mines of Peru. This took place after his participation in the seminar «Effective Strategies to Achieve Success in the Mining Sector».
He also recognized the outstanding work done by the Chamber of Mines of Peru in promoting innovative and creative skills in the training of future professionals in the mining industry.
Our institution seeks to introduce a change of paradigms in the development of each of the tasks that compose the development of mining. For this purpose, it develops a series of tools and programs to train professionals. Also, to have general skills that allow the development of innovative alternatives; as well as creative solutions to provide solutions to the latent problems of the mining business.
«The task that the Chamber of Mines of Peru has been developing is important and vital; since a country cannot move forward without the organization of courses and training talks for the promotion of skills. Among these are coaching, leadership, and, fundamentally, the creation of innovative professionals,» said Congressman Omar Chehade.
«[Training new experts] is one of the most important qualities to have in order to improve the profitability of mining projects. This will contribute to Peru’s economic and social development,» said the legislator from the Gana Peru party.
By developing and disseminating tools that promote the development of skills, students will be able to reduce the most common mistakes, which are usually made when they first start working in extractive operations.
In addition, it is also important for the Chamber of Mines of Peru to train teachers from different universities and educational institutions. As a result, they will be trained to transmit knowledge to the new generations in an adequate manner.
Mining is a fundamental productive activity for the growth of Peru, since it represents 40% of the GDP. «If it is so important for the country, it is all the more reason to promote innovation in this sector. It is necessary that entrepreneurs and the State promote the training of our young people; they are the present and the future of the country. Without innovation there is no development», said Congressman Omar Chehade.
Likewise, Eng. Cesar Gallardo Vela stated the importance of promoting innovative solutions in mining. «We want to contribute to renew and improve the way in which the tasks have been carried out within the productive process, so that the extractive activity is carried out with higher standards of profitability. In addition, it is important to protect the environment and social responsibility, as well as to recognize the work of the responsible mining entrepreneur,» said our chief executive officer.
The Chamber of Mines of Peru has the vision of promoting sustainable development in Peru. The latter through the joint effort of all those who are related to the mining sector.
Our mission is to integrate all those linked to the industry, seeking the implementation and consolidation of mining for everyone. «It is important to recognize that this is an organization that, unlike others, does not only bring together mining companies. It is also interested in working with communities and universities to generate benefits for Peru,» adds the parliamentarian.
An example of this, is the activities that the Chamber of Mines of Peru has carried out throughout the year. Among these, the «III Agenda Pendiente del Sector Minero» (III Pending Agenda of the Mining Sector), which took place last May. The purpose of the event was to contribute to improving relations between mining companies, communities and the State. Likewise, its priority was to promote responsible extractive activity as a fundamental part of Peru’s development.
The organization of the I Seminar «Effective Strategies to Achieve Success in the Mining Sector» can also be mentioned. This was aimed at directors, professors and students of the various universities in the north, center and south of Peru; with the purpose of presenting tools and strategies to optimize the academic quality of universities related to mining.
As a final part of the meeting, the legislator acknowledged the work of the Chamber of Mines, especially the chief executive officer of the institution. «I would like to congratulate Mr. César Gallardo Vela and all the members of the Chamber of Mines.
I believe that the courses and training programs they develop promote the development of the country and contribute to improve the future of young people. This is very important to have a more economically solid Peru with a high level of social welfare», he concluded.
