One of the main objectives of the event is to promote the cultural exchange of mining professionals.
The Chamber of Mines of Peru will hold the Congress GeoMin 2016, from November 23 to 25 in Johannesburg (South Africa); which will be attended by experts from our institution and representatives of the main mining companies in Africa; as well as specialists from the five continents. The goal is that professionals, operating personnel and the general public can optimize their knowledge in mining.
The objective of this congress is to highlight the importance of the exchange of knowledge in the mining scenario worldwide. As well as, the specialization of workers in all areas of the sector such as management, geology, mining and metallurgy. In addition, safety, environment, maintenance and social responsibility, all in the context of a global extractive sector.
Likewise, action plans will be analyzed to optimize production processes and reduce costs in those unitary activities that represent a high investment. In which loading, transportation and metallurgical processes stand out. In addition, social responsibility and sustainability issues will be addressed.
The Congress GeoMin 2016 of the Chamber of Mines of Peru will also provide tools to identify existing hazards, both external and internal. As well as, evaluate the application of the most appropriate processes to reduce such hazards and generate a safer working environment for the client.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that within the duration of the event there will also be Short Courses; which consist of technical presentations on different topics. These will deepen in the various areas of mining knowledge.
This Congress GeoMin 2016 is part of the series of strategic activities that the Chamber of Mines of Peru plans to carry out during the current year to continue with its objective of promoting mining for everyone.
