The Peruvian ambassador to Italy, Luis Iberico Núñez, received a special tribute for his exceptional performance as President of the Advisory Council of Chamber of Mines of Peru. Position he is leaving to assume his diplomatic functions in Rome from November 1. The ceremony for the also former President of the Congress of the Republic was held at the theater of the UNI. As part of the II GEOMET 2016 Mining Congress and was headed by the Executive Director of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, Eng. César Gallardo Vela.
Ambassador Luis Iberico participated in the awarding, as well as the CMP’s Executive Director, the President of the UNI Board of Trustees, Eng. Guido del Castillo, the countess, Isabel de Mauléon de Bruyères, the ambassador Edgardo de Habich, the congressman, Clayton Galván, and the University’s Dean, Dr. Jorge Alva Hurtado, among other personalities.
Ambassador Luis Iberico received from Eng. Gallardo a commemorate plaque for his remarkable management leading the Advisory Council in compliance with the objective of promoting sustainable global mining that benefits all Peruvians.

“I am grateful to the Chamber of Mines of Peru, and to Eng. César Gallardo, for allowing me to lead the Advisory Council of this institution. Always focused on promoting responsible mining, to prioritize community relations, the environment and economic growth for everyone’s benefit. Thank you, César, I am convinced that mining is one of the main ways to achieve the development of Peru. I will continue fighting, from wherever I am, in favor of a global, clean and sustainable mining”, said Ambassador Luis Iberico.
For his part, the CMP’s Executive Director highlighted the contributions and commitment of Mr. Iberico while heading the Advisory Council. “I want to thank the new ambassador Luis Iberico, for having accompanied us in this short but beneficial period. Always thinking about the economic development of the country through an extractive activity that is responsible for the communities and the environment, modern and sustainable. I know that in this new challenge in Italy, Iberico Heighten Peru’s name.” said Gallardo Vela. Meanwhile, the prominent journalist César Campos Rodríguez replaces the Ambassador Iberico as President of the Advisory Council.
