To celebrate the 482nd anniversary since the founding of Lima, the CMP attended the Gala Concert held at the Municipal Theater of Lima.
The event was organized by the Municipality of Lima and the Committee on Culture and Cultural Heritage of the Congress of the Republic.
CMP’s President, Eng. César Gallardo Vela, and the General secretary of the Advisory Council of our institution, Dr. Carlos Castagnola, advisor for the Culture and Cultural Heritage of the Congress of the Republic, were present at this Gala Concert to commemorate the 482 years of the Spanish foundation of our beloved capital.
Some of the guests included prominent personalities of the arts and culture of Lima. For example, the tenor and President of the Commission for Culture and Cultural Heritage of the Congress of the Republic, Francesco Petrozzi; as well as singers Lucía de la Cruz, Julie Freundt, Marco Zunino, Juan Antonio de Dompablo, Jorge Pardo and Jhovan Tomasevich.
Lima’s Municipal Theater hosts Gala Concert for city anniversary
The inauguration of this emblematic architectural monument occurred on July 28, 1920. At the time it was named “Teatro Forero”; but it was not until 1929 that the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima became responsible for its adjudication and management.
Additionally, it was also renamed and baptized as the Teatro Municipal de Lima (Municipal Theater of Lima), a designation that continues to this day.
Finally, it is worth saying that the CMP supports this type of initiative. Always seeking to promote Peru’s development in compliance with our mission to encourage culture and development. Moreover, they allow us to stablish relations with authorities to continue promoting mining for all.
