Abat Oliba University and our institution for a solidarity economy

In joint work with the Spanish university, the Chamber of Mines of Peru seeks to strengthen postgraduate courses.

The Chamber of Mines of Peru and the Department of Solidarity Economy of the Abat Oliba University held a joint work meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to complement and reinforce the postgraduate courses on Solidarity Economy.

The meeting was held at the facilities of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, where Mrs. Carmen Parra participated. Mrs. Carmen Parra is the director of the Solidarity Economy Chair at the Abat Oliba University. The aforementioned study center was established as a private university in 2003. Currently, the UAO study center is committed to an academic model based on the implementation of innovative teaching methodologies.

In addition, the meeting was attended by the president and chief executive officer of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, Mr. Cesar Gallado. Mr. Carlos Castagnola, Senior Management advisor of our institution and advisor to the Committee of Culture and Cultural Heritage of the Congress of the Republic, also attended the meeting.

This assembly served to strengthen the ties of cooperation between both entities; likewise, to thank the support provided by the institution in the training of the students of the Master’s Degree course in Management and Communication of Solidarity Entities that are being carried out.

Director of the chair highlighted work of the Chamber of Mines of Peru for offering specialized courses which humanize the mining sector; above all, which seek mechanisms or tools for responsible mining.

At the end of the meeting, she highlighted that the Chair of Solidarity Economy will provide tools and train skills to reach a broader and stronger agreement between both institutions.

She also assured that they will not only work on technical issues, but will join efforts to focus the education of professionals towards a series of competencies within their jobs.
