Ph. D. Leonardo Cornejo assumes Chairmanship of the Technical Advisory Committee
The renowned professional, PhD Leonardo Cornejo, assumed the Chairmanship of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Chamber Of Mines Of Peru. With this position, the Board of Directors of our institution wishes to consolidate the strategic objectives towards a globalized mining industry. This with the participation of mining companies, society and the State, as it has been working in its 17 years of creation.
The current President of our Technical Advisory Committee has held in his extensive career (40 years) positions as Occupational Health and Safety Manager DMH – Codelco (Chile). In addition, he has been a consultant in Risk Management at Antofagasta Minerals and Anglo American (Chile), as well as OHS Manager, Sustainability and Risk Management Manager at Codelco (Chile).
He also holds a PhD in Metallurgy from the Colorado School of Mines.
Functions of the Technical Advisory Committee
The Technical Advisory Committee, led by PhD Cornejo, has the function of giving its opinion and making recommendations on matters proposed for its consideration by the Chief Executive Officer, which are related to the strategic objectives of the Chamber Of Mines Of Peru.
In that sense, these opinions may be submitted to the different directions of the Technical Advisory Committee, which is comprised of management, geology, mining, metallurgy, occupational health and safety, environment, social responsibility, training and education, and maintenance, as well as health sciences.

Among the strategic objectives of the Chamber Of Mines Of Peru are: Mining Development, Consulting, Training, Social Responsibility, Conflict Resolution, Mining Culture, Communication, Recognition and Global Presence.
In this way, PhD Leonardo Cornejo will lead a team of renowned professionals in the sector, who will provide technical and academic support to the research and development areas of the Chamber Of Mines Of Peru.
