Mining company Doe Run Perú signed membership with The Chamber of Mines

The mining company Doe Run Perú S.R.L. became a member of The Chamber of Mines of Peru. Through the incorporation of the company, the two institutions agree to “establish relationships that allow the development of mechanisms and instruments of mutual collaboration, adding efforts and resources that lead to the achievement of their institutional objectives”.

Doe Run Perú is a mining and metallurgical company that until 2006 was part of Doe Run Company. The company operates the La Oroya metallurgical complex and the Cobriza mine in Huancavelica.

Melvin Mendoza, Legal Advisor of the institution, Sonia Astonitas, Financial Advisor, and Carlos Castagnola, Senior Management Advisor and Director of Graduate Studies, were present at the signing of the membership on behalf of The Chamber of Mines of Peru. On the other hand, engineer Eloy León Amaro, Logistics Manager, attended on behalf of Doe Run Perú.

Engineer León said: “It is very important for us to strengthen ties with prestigious institutions such as The Chamber of Mines of Peru. The Chamber has been doing a fundamental work for the mining industry.” He also emphasized the strategic importance of having the support of a company with a long history, such as The Chamber of Mines of Peru.

“We are very happy to be able to establish a working relationship with The Chamber of Mines of Peru, an institution that over the years has earned an excellent reputation in the country,” added León. He referred to the agreement and showed expectations for the future, regarding the joint work that both companies will carry out for mining with a global impact. Likewise, The Chamber of Mines of Peru demonstrated its commitment to promote the work of its members and to bring mining for everyone to every part of the world.

Finally, both companies mentioned that they are working on plans for sustainable wellbeing and mining in the region.
