Dr. Luis Iberico Núñez will chair, through an agreement of the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Board of Directors of The Chamber of Mines of Peru, the Advisory Council of our institution as of August 22.
Iberico also expressed his commitment to the appointment and his motivation to work in the pursuit of socially and environmentally responsible mining.
In addition, the professional who will chair the Advisory Council, Dr. Luis Iberico, welcomed the work being done by The Chamber of Mines of Peru with different public and private institutions. These are in favor of responsible extractive activity, through the signing of agreements, training and reflection on the current mining situation in the country.
“Mining suffers unjustified judgments, people do not trust it. That is why there must be a regulatory body for the activity, because there is still a lot of wealth to be explored in the country”, said Dr. Iberico, after his appointment.
The meeting was attended by the CEO of The Chamber of Mines of Peru, engineer César Gallardo Vela, the Senior Management Advisor and General Secretary of the Advisory Council of The Chamber of Mines of Peru, Dr. Carlos Castagnola Sánchez, and the Legal Advisor of The Chamber of Mines of Peru, Dr. Mario Chávez Mejía.
The Chamber of Mines of Peru, through this appointment, reinforces its commitment to its strategic objectives
- Contribute to the optimization of processes and cost reduction in mining companies, suppliers and related companies in the sector.
- Develop tools that allow the continuous training of all those involved in the mining sector.
- Create and promote social and environmental responsibility plans with the purpose of involving different actors of society, to allow them to participate in the development of a sustainable global mining.
- Contribute to improve the relationship between mining companies, communities and the State to promote responsible mining activity as a fundamental contribution to the development of sustainable global mining.
- Work in an integrated manner on strategic and investment projects among mining representatives, aligned to a sustained development of the sector.
Finally, we trust that these strategic objectives will be carried towards consolidation by the professional Dr. Luis Iberico, who will chair the Advisory Council, and in the hard work that The Chamber of Mines of Peru has been carrying out since its formation.
