The President of the UNI’s Board of Trustees was granted and award for being a pioneer in mining activities in the country.
The prominent mining engineer and businessman Guido del Castillo, President of the Board of Trustees of the UNI (Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería), was awarded this morning by the Chamber of Mines of Peru. This acknowledgment is granted for being a pioneer of mining activities in the country and for being a tireless promoter of Peruvian art and culture.
Likewise, the engineer Guido del Castillo received a commemorative plaque for his contribution to mining and the dissemination of the culture of our country. Which was headed by the university’s Dean, Dr. Jorge Alva Hurtado, and the Executive Director of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, Eng. César Gallardo Vela.
I’m grateful and proud for this distinction given by the Chamber of Mines of Peru. It is a great opportunity to renew our commitment to spread the ancient culture of our country and the development of mining activities. Also, I want to thank in a special way for this distinction the Executive Director of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, my friend César Gallardo,” expressed del Castillo. Mr. Castillo is also founder of the Andrés del Castillo Museum.
For his part, the CMP’s Executive Director highlighted the long and successful career of engineer Guido del Castillo, who was awarded with an important distinction.
“It is a great pleasure for the Chamber of Mines of Peru to recognize the remarkable work of engineer Guido del Castillo. He is a source of inspiration for several generations of engineers who seek to harmonize the mining activity with the development and dissemination of the arts”, said Eng. Gallardo.
Among the figures that received the Engineer Guido del Castillo, were Executive Director of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, the university’s Dean, Dr. Jorge Alva; the president of CMP’s Advisory Council, Mr. César Campos; the ambassador and former President of the Advisory Council, Mr. Luis Iberico; Ambassador Edgardo de Habich; Countess Isabel de Mauléon de Bruyères and Congressman Clayton Galván.
The II International Mining Congress GEOMET 2016, held by the Chamber of Mines of Peru will be open until the 14th of this month. It is located in UNI’s theater and brings together more than 30 experts from the mining activity, national and international. In which officials, executives, and leaders of the main companies in the sector will present their experiences during the four-days event.
