Congressman Francesco Petrozzi, President of the Committee on Culture of the Congress, highlighted the importance of the 2016 GEOMET International Mining Congress. Event organized by the CMP until October 14 at the theater of the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI).
“Events such as the GEOMET 2016, gathers over than 30 national and international exhibitors, and more than 1500 attendees. This allows us to debate the role that we must all have: State, companies, and citizens. What we need to carry out clean mining and sustainable, modern; that not only contributes economically to the country, but also takes care of the environment and prioritizes the relationship with the communities. For this reason, I want to congratulate the Executive Director of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, my friend Eng. César Gallardo, for his remarkable contribution in favor of modern mining”, said the parliamentarian during the inauguration of the event.
Petrozzi, President of the Commission, also highlighted the work carried out by the Chamber of Mines of Peru. Which has dedicated over a decade to the debate and dissemination of mining with the highest environmental standards and the promotion of art and culture in our country and the world. It is worth remembering that the CMP has brand ambassadors in 15 countries of the region and Europe.
“I call all mining companies to join the initiatives of the Chamber of Mines of Peru. It is very important to spread art; and companies have the resources to do it. It is also a way to repay the country for so many benefits”. said the parliamentarian.

Before closing the opening day, the Executive Director of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, Eng. César Gallardo gave an award to the parliamentarian in recognition for his labor.
The Medal of Honor of the CMP was granted in recognition for his long artistic contribution to the country. The Congressman Francesco Petrozzi has been a renowned tenor and now he continues to promote culture from the Commission that presides over from the Congress.
