The Chamber of Mines of Peru offered a farewell cocktail in honor to Luis Iberico Núñez. Dr. Iberico will be leaving for Europe to take on new challenges as extraordinary ambassador and plenipotentiary of Peru in the Republic of Italy.
The former President to both, the Congress of the Republic, and the CMP’s Advisory Council, carried out an arduous work in favor of responsible and sustainable mining.
The gala took place at the residence of the Executive Director of the Chamber of Mines of Peru, Eng. César Gallardo Vela, and was attended by distinguished personalities. Such as politicians, representatives of Congress, authorities, and the press.
The new Ambassador, Luis Iberico expressed his gratitude to the Chamber of Mines of Peru. Institution of which he was a part of until this month and promised to develop a broad work in accordance with expectations in his new mission as head of Peruvian diplomacy in Rome.
Likewise, Iberico recognized the hard work that the CMP has been doing in the search for responsible mining. As well as the constant training of those involved in the process to become a source of development for the communities and the country.

For his part, the host, Eng. César Gallardo Vela, congratulated his appointment as the new Peruvian ambassador and expressed his believe in the success of Dr. Iberico’s future endeavors. “I have the highest opinion of Lic. Iberico, who was part of the Chamber of Mines of Peru. I am also sure he will do a great job representing the interests of Peru in Italy. I would like to tell him, finally, that the Chamber of Mines will always be his home” he concluded.
Among the distinguished personalities present at the farewell cocktail in honor to Luis Iberico, were the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Néstor Popolizio Bardales, the Congressmen, Héctor Becerril, Luis Galarreta and Edwin Donayre.
Likewise, the lawyer and politician, Luis Gonzales Posada, the Provincial Mayor of Tumbes, Manuel de Lama Hirsh; the president of the Agencia Internacional de Gobernabilidad y Política (AIGP), Gustavo Pacheco Villar. As well as the general manager of the Aruntani mining company, Fernando Valdez, and the Countess Isabel de Mauléon de Bruyéres, among other personalities.
