The Chamber of Mines of Peru strengthens mutual collaboration ties with the Congress of the Republic of Peru by initiating a work plan with the Energy and Mines Commission. The aforementioned group is formed by Architect Armando Villanueva Mercado, and has the support of our CEO, engineer César Gallardo Vela.
“Our main objective is to consolidate mining as a responsible activity for society and the environment. We will provide the necessary tools to optimize costs. This will be done through constant training of the actors directly involved in the sector. As a result, mining will become a sustainable activity over time. We will consolidate our commitment with the Congress of the Republic of Peru and work together in favor of the extractive sector”, said the CEO of The Chamber of Mines of Peru, engineer César Gallardo Vela.
On his side, the head of the Energy and Mines Commission of the Congress of Peru expressed his initiative to develop strategic projects during this year and next year. He also stated that he wants to build bridges that will allow both institutions to consolidate mining. Likewise, he emphasized that it is a responsible and fundamental activity for the economic development of the country.
“We have many plans and projects in the short and long term. The Chamber of Mines of Peru is an institution that has been working constantly in favor of mining. We are going to continue doing them jointly”, expressed the Member of Parliament.
The Chamber of Mines of Peru and its commitment to the extractive sector
The specific objectives of The Chamber of Mines of Peru are the following: Contribute to the optimization of processes and cost reduction in mining companies, suppliers and related companies in the sector.
In addition, it is important for the institution to develop tools that allow the continuous training of all those who are related to the mining sector. Also, to create and promote social and environmental responsibility plans with the purpose of involving different actors of society; to allow them to participate in the development of a sustainable global mining.
A further objective is to contribute to improving the relationship between mining companies, communities and the State, in order to promote responsible mining activity as a fundamental contribution to the development of sustainable global mining.
Finally, the institution wishes to work in an integrated manner on strategic and investment projects among mining representatives. These should be aligned to a sustained development of the sector.
