The Chamber of Mines of Peru promotes mining research programs

The students of the Chamber of Mines develop alternatives to improve the different processes of the sector.

We promote mining research programs

At the Chamber of Mines of Peru, as a pioneer institution in developing postgraduate programs specialized in mining, we promote research within the mining sector. Thus, our institution promotes research in the different areas of mining, such as: Management, Geology, Mining, Metallurgy; Safety, Environment, Maintenance and Social Responsibility.

For this reason, postgraduate students of the Chamber of Mines of Peru develop technical papers. In these research papers they propose different alternatives to improve processes and optimize costs related to the different activities carried out in the mining sector.

“This allows us to promote research among the students of our international master’s degree programs. The development of specialized articles contributes to optimizing processes in the various activities of the sector,” said Engineer César Gallardo Vela, president of the institution.

We promote mining research programs in Peru and in other countries

It is worth mentioning that the Chamber of Mines of Peru has students in 14 Spanish-speaking countries; in addition, it has more than 200 consultants in charge of providing an innovative and didactic methodology. They train professionals capable of meeting the current demands of the sector.

For example, as part of these research programs, Lic. Ricardo Manrique, expert in Biology and Chemistry, Esp. in environmental engineering, MSc in Geology, GISP and GIHIDEA Researcher, conducted the first technical paper of 2017.

The student of our master’s degree course, who works as Environmental Mining Director of Biominerales Col. S.A.S., developed the technical article: “Risk assessment for occupational exposure in a coal mine in Socha Boyacá.” In this article, he details the dangers of exposure to silica and coal dust and the possible diseases that can be caused by these elements.

Promoting research is one of the main axes of the academic programs of the Chamber of Mines of Peru. In order to achieve this objective, it has first-class professionals, with broad experience in the sector
