Engineer César Gallardo, President of The Chamber of Mines of Peru, held an important meeting with Luis Iberico, Ambassador of Peru to Italy, in the historical city of Rome in Italy. It is worth mentioning that the Ambassador was former President of the Advisory Council of our institution.
The purpose of this meeting was to consider different business strategies for the implementation of activities thus enhancing the Peruvian economic development in mining. One of the strategic objectives of The Chamber of Mines of Peru is working together with mining representatives in important projects and investment projects in order to achieve sustainable development in the field.
“It’s a pleasure to meet the Ambassador of Peru to Italy, Luis Iberico, who holds an important position as a representative of Peru. We are considering working together to promote different activities that lead to the development of investment programs that will result in economic growth”, stated Engineer Cesar Gallardo, President of our institution.
Ambassador and longtime politician
The Ambassador of Peru to Italy expressed, “I appreciate the visit of César Gallardo, President of The Chamber of Mines of Peru. As an institution, it is in charge of the promotion and awareness-raising on responsible mining by providing the parties involved in the field with continuous training. I must congratulate them for the work they are doing in support of mining in Peru and Latin America.”
The Ambassador has a longtime political career. As a congressman, he served two terms. During the first term, from 2000 to 2006, he served as congressman for the Frente Independiente Moralizador (Independent Moralizing Front Party). He also joined the political party Alianza por el Gran Cambio (Alliance for the Great Change), which was created in 2010. Lastly, he was elected President of the Congress in 2015.
