To Celebrate Its 141 years, UNI Signs a Cooperation Agreement
The Chamber of Mines of Peru congratulates UNI on its anniversary and celebrates by signing an agreement.
The CMP has signed an educational cooperation agreement with the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI). This agreement will positively benefit many students and professionals from both institutions.
The celebration of this agreement was part of the CMP’s constant work in pursuit of the training of new professionals who participate in the creation of a modern and renewed mining. Goals that run hand in hand with the educational purposes of UNI. The agreement aims to “establish and develop mechanisms and instruments for mutual collaboration and benefit. Combining efforts and available resources conducive to human development, knowledge and culture”.
This agreement establishes the development of technical cooperation and services provision between both institutions. To this end, the coordinated signing of specific agreements and independent execution is agreed upon, in accordance with the priorities and objectives determined between the Chamber and the University. The agreement was signed by CMP´s President, Eng. César Gallardo Vela, behalf of the institution; and, representing the university, the Dean, Dr. Jorge Alva Hurtado.
This Cooperation Agreement serves as a reference for future collaborations and agreements between the CMP and the UNI, the oldest university in engineering studies in Peru.
UNI’s Anniversary and Cooperation Agreement
UNI celebrated its 141st anniversary highlighting its successes and achievements in the formation of high-level professionals. Since its foundation in 1876, this university has dedicated itself to educate specialists in Sciences, Engineering, Technologies, and Applied Arts.
The Dean, Dr. Jorge Alva Hurtado, hosted an academic recognition ceremony for the faculty, students, and administrative staff.
The CMP was also invited to the ceremony where it conveyed its best wishes of fellowship and respect. Additionally, the CMP also congratulated the institution for its great achievements in favor of mining in Peru and highlighted the solid relationship between institutions through the Cooperation Agreement.
Dr. Carlos Castagnola, Secretary General of the CMP’s Advisory Council and advisor to the Committee on Culture and Cultural Heritage of the Congress of the Republic, conveyed the sincere greetings of our institution to this respected and prestigious house of studies.
CMP and UNI, towards optimal mining development
Dr. Alva gladly received the greetings of the Chamber of Mines of Peru. He took the opportunity to highlight the agreements that both institutions maintain. He emphasized that both institutions have been developing high-level cultural and academic projects. In addition to supporting and collaborating with artisanal mining as established in the Cooperation Agreement between the CMP and UNI.
The main ceremony was headed by the Dean, Dr. Jorge Alva Hurtado, in company of the academic vice rector, Dr. Gilberto Becerra Arévalo; the vice rector for research, Dr. Walter Estrada López; the Dean of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Dr. Orestes Cachay Boza; the President of Concytec, Fabiola León-Velarde Servetto; the Congressman of the Republic, Ing. Juan Manuel Sheput Moore, among other authorities.
Finally, the CMP reiterates its congratulatory greetings to UNI. An institution with which it hopes to continue signing agreements. Such as the one they currently have.
