Once again, The Chamber of Mines of Peru is proud to be able to contribute to the training of professionals through its Master’s Degree program. On this occasion, metallurgical engineer Marco González González, successfully presented his thesis and obtained the Master’s Degree Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (OHSE) Management in Mining.

The ceremony took place on Thursday, March 8 of this year at the facilities of Universidad Nacional de Huancavelica (UNH), where Mr. González presented his thesis entitled “Prevención de accidentes laborales en base a un liderazgo compartido en el proyecto ciudad Nueva Fuerabamba” (Prevention of occupational accidents based on shared leadership in the project Nueva Fuerabamba city).

Dr. Amadeo Enríquez Donaires, MSc. Jorge Rodríguez Deza (secretary of the jury), and MSc. Rodrigo Huamancaja Espinoza acted as president, secretary and member of the jury in the thesis presentation for the Master’s Degree in OHSE in Mining. The thesis advisor, Mg. Luz Macharte, was also present.

After a round of questions from the members of the jury, where the metallurgical engineering specialist gave a solid answer to the questions raised by the judges, Dr. Enriquez performed the respective swearing-in ceremony and awarded the student the academic degree.

From his point of view, and after presenting his thesis on the OHSE management in mining, engineer González González highlighted the teaching system of The Chamber of Mines of Peru, considering the vast experience and outstanding trajectory of its professors. He even had the opportunity to meet some of them personally, which is why he decided to follow the Master’s Degree program at this institution.

The author of the thesis for the Master’s Degree in OHSE Management in Mining, Marco González, is a graduate of Universidad San Agustín de Arequipa. He currently works as corporate head of risk prevention and environmental management at CAM Peru S.A., as well as a teacher at the EAP in occupational health and safety engineering at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. In addition, he is accredited by the IPMA as a safety expert and is a member of the jury in certification processes in that institution.
