José Salazar states that “2018 will be a year of challenges and growth. This is the year of consolidation. We believe that the community, the society and the business must generate an ecosystem; in order that all projects have a sustainable character over time. And particularly in the metallurgy field, it must obviously reflect an impact and a significant growth in order that these projects are more in line with sustainability and development parameters in favor of our country”.
José Salazar holds a PhD degree in Engineering Sciences, with specialization in Advanced Control Models in SAG Mill Processes. He’s also an engineer graduated from the University of Santiago de Chile. He worked as Industrial Engineering Department Chief and Researcher in Simulation, Modeling and Theoretical & Applied Simulation for Advanced Control of Processed Ore.
The Director of Metallurgy is a close associate of the Chamber of Mines of Peru and recalls with esteem: “I’ve been working with the institution for many years. I’ve seen its growth, development, maturity and how it has been positioning itself. I believe that the foundations are in place to continue growing for many years,” he says.
Challenges for the Chamber of Mines in 2018
The Chamber of Mines of Peru, with 14 years of experience, has maintained strong objectives: the optimization and improvement of mining processes; training development; the preparation of social responsibility plans; the contribution to the relationship improvement between mining companies and the State. In addition, the promotion of mining culture and the development of strategic and investment projects.
One of the challenges of the Chamber of Mines of Peru for 2018 is being a leading institution in the development of a responsible mining industry for everyone.
