PhD Roberto Poncela, Director of Environment, who has a vast trajectory of 30 years of professional experience in Spain and South America, emphasized the important work carried out by The Chamber of Mines of Peru and projects a prosperous 2018 for mining.
Based on his experience, students will acquire knowledge in Hydrogeology, since he has a PhD in Hydrogeology from the Materials, Water and Soil Engineering Program at Universidad de Alicante (Spain).
2018 is a year of change and care for the environment
“This 2018 will be a year that will allow us to make a qualitative and quantitative jump in terms of projects. In such a way that the environmental commitment is not only a variable of the technical project, but also a variable of the project with social responsibility where all the actors are involved in the same line,” stressed the environmental specialist.
He also referred to the work he has been doing since 2010 as Director of Environment at The Chamber of Mines of Peru. “What really surprised me was the training capacity and, above all, the vision of the future with a continuous professional development in a way that would allow an improvement in the performance of all its capabilities. On this point, The Chamber of Mines has been a magnificent transmitter of this knowledge and the will to continue in this direction,” expressed the Spanish professional.
On the other hand, PhD Roberto Poncela addressed the future Peruvian professionals in the mining sector of our country. “Student work continues throughout professional life. From a professional and personal point of view, two principles must be observed: caution and common sense. The future professionals are the successors of the generations that are about to retire, and will have technical responsibilities and some of them even from the political point of view”.
