The Chamber of Mines of Peru continues its training tour on the 2019 Mining Sector Outlook.

Capacitación académica minera en la Universidad Nacional Micaela Bastidas

The Chamber of Mines of Peru visited the city of Abancay, in the center of the country, to continue with the development of the academic training course “2019 Mining Sector Outlook in Latin America”.

This time, mining engineering students from the Micaela Bastidas National University in Apurímac (UNAMBA) received training from our institution.

It is worth mentioning that Abancay is the second destination where the Chamber of Mines of Peru offers this program. In addition, we do it free of charge, using our own resources, since the objective of our Social Responsibility area is to deliver mining for everyone.

Moreover, as expected, the students and teachers of the UNAMBA highly valued the training received since the Chamber of Mines of Peru came to deliver this academic training course with first class professionals.

For example, the presentation was given by engineer Oscar Calero, whose professional experience in mining comes from countries such as Canada, Russia, Australia and India.

During his presentation, the engineer explained various topics such as mining investment in Peru for this year, as well as the challenges of global mining, social conflicts, etc.

The importance of this mining academic training is evident in the words of Arnold Alvarez, a mining engineering student at UNAMBA.

“The Chamber of Mines of Peru provides a valuable opportunity to teach essential knowledge about the mining industry in the country. Today we learned a lot thanks to engineer Óscar Calero.”

At the end of the training course, the more than 200 attendees received certificates for their participation. In addition, after his presentation, engineer Óscar Calero answered questions from those attending the course.

Mining Academic Training in Peruvian Universities

At the Chamber of Mines of Peru, our objective is to develop mining for everyone. This is based on principles of social and environmental responsibility in a context of global integration.

For this reason, we take our free mining training courses to different cities in Peru, because only in this way can we really contribute to a substantial improvement in the development of a responsible extractive activity.

We will continue to visit cities with a great mining tradition in the country, such as Cajamarca, Tacna, Abancay, among others, as our aim is to promote a positive synergy between companies, society and State, based on mining.
